Area is how much flat surface a shape covers. Rectangles are length times width, circles are π times radius squared, and triangles are half base times height. For irregular spaces, split them into these shapes, work out each one and add them together.

Area units scale by the square of length units. 1 m is 3.28 ft, so 1 m² is 10.76 ft².
