Count spaces in the longest line.
Allow 1 in of letter height for every 10 ft of viewing distance. Read from 100 ft, letters need to be 10 in tall. A 20 character line on 2 lines needs a banner about 14.2 × 3.3 ft, so a 4 × 16 ft stock banner.
