Label Size Calculator
Pick the sheet size, enter the label width and height, the margins and the gaps between labels, and how many labels you need. The calculator gives the labels per sheet, the layout, the real margins and the sheets to buy.

Keep margins at least 4 mm so your printer can reach the labels.
Labels fit in a grid, so one column too many is all or nothing. On A4 with 5 mm side margins and 2.5 mm gaps, labels 63.5 mm wide fit three across. With 38.1 mm high labels and 10 mm top margins, seven rows fit, giving the common 21 labels a sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions
No question matches that search.
How many labels fit on an A4 sheet?
It depends on the size. Common sheets hold anywhere from one to sixty-five labels.
How do I work out labels per sheet?
Divide the usable width by the label width plus gap, round down, and do the same for the height. Multiply the two.
What margin does a printer need?
Usually at least four to five millimetres on each side.
What is the standard address label size?
Sixty-three point five by thirty-eight point one millimetres, twenty-one to an A4 sheet.
How many sheets do I need?
Divide the labels you need by the labels per sheet and round up.
Do I need gaps between labels?
Not always. Some sheets butt labels together with no gap.
Can I use A4 label sizes on Letter paper?
Not reliably. Letter is wider and shorter, so the layout changes.
