Watch Size Calculator
Measure round your wrist just above the wrist bone and choose a watch style. The calculator suggests a case diameter range, the longest lug-to-lug that will sit flat and the strap width to match.
- Wrist to case size
- Lug-to-lug limit
- Strap width
Wrap a strip of paper round your wrist, mark it and measure it flat. Do not pull it tight.
Lug-to-lug matters more than the case diameter. A watch looks right when its lugs stay inside the flat top of your wrist. If they hang over the sides, the watch looks too big however its diameter is quoted. Dress watches look best small, while divers and sports watches can go a little larger.

| 20 | 7.9 | 42 to 45 | 55 | 22 |

Dress watches sit about 2 mm smaller, and divers 2 mm larger. Lug-to-lug should stay under the flat width of the top of the wrist.
Wrist size and watch size
Everyday watch. Slide the wrist size.
Most men's watches are 38 to 42 mm. Most women's watches are 28 to 36 mm, though many people of all wrist sizes now wear 36 to 40.
How to choose a watch size
Measure, then match. Step through it.
Measure your wrist
Just above the wrist bone.
Thickness matters too. A watch over 13 mm thick will catch on shirt cuffs, which is why dress watches are thin.
Dress, everyday or dive
Style changes the ideal size. Compare them.
Thin and understated, fits under a shirt cuff.
A balanced size that goes with most clothes.
Bold and legible, with a rotating bezel.
A thick bezel makes a watch look smaller than its diameter. A thin bezel and a big dial make it look larger.
